Devonshire House Management Club

About DHC
Our style is friendly but professional, and members are encouraged to bring guests to meetings. We operate a code of honourable conduct, and if guests are brought to events, this must be made clear to them:

All meetings are private and take place under the Chatham House rule, to enable real debate to take place.
'Soliciting for business' in any form is banned.
Membership directories, like dinner attendance lists, may not be used by anyone for any business purpose whatsoever.

Our speakers are drawn from a very wide spectrum of interests - including business, politics, the media, religion, the arts and public service. The purpose of our dinner speakers however is to challenge, stimulate and inform: it is not to lecture on specialist human resources subjects. Specialist subjects are more appropriately covered in our highly participative workshops.

Our monthly dinners are held at the Charing Cross Hotel, a conveniently situated central London hotel. Typically we begin at 6.30 pm with pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner and our guest speaker. We finish promptly at 9.30 pm.

Our organisation is run on a day-to-day basis by the Administration Director who arranges club events, maintains the Club accounts and keeps current membership records.

Our directors are honorary officers who constitute a committee of management and are subject to election by the membership. Currently they are:

John Gilkes (Chairman), Philip Barr, Stephanie Bird, Mike Haffenden, Neil Hayward, Stephen Kelly, Robert Legget, Jane Mann, Robert Potter, Charles Russam, Bruce Warman, Carol Whitaker, Paul Williams, Frances Wright.

Our Gold Corporate Members: Devonshire House is a non profit-seeking organisation and we are grateful to our Gold Corporate Members whose support helps us to ensure that we maintain our values and purpose.

Our current Gold Corporate Members are Standard Chartered Bank, Russam GMS and the CIPD.
